Dave Baker, Esq., Vice President, Law and Public Policy, Earthlink
Dave Baker served as Commissioner and
Chairman of the Georgia Public Service Commission from
1994-1998, and presently serves as a
Director of the Georgia Electronic Commerce
Association (GECA), and the Chairman of the
California Internet Service Providers Association
(CISPA)
Baker's work with Earthlink includes public policy initiatives in
areas including privacy, broadband access,
intellectual property, taxation and law enforcement
issues.
Robert Dorfman, Director of Sustaining and Process Engineering,
Earthlink
Rob Dorfman is responsible for
large-scale system
development projects, mergers and integrations,
and sustaining and process Engineering at
Earthlink. Prior to working with Earthlink, Dorfman
worked with Netcom, ICG Communicatins, and
MindSpring. Dorfman is originally from New York, and
has a Ph.D from Stanford University.
Michael Grow, Esq., Partner, Arent Fox Kintner Plotkin & Kahn PLLC
Grow was the successful Plaintiff's attorney in the
seminal anti-spam case brought by
AOL against Sanford Wallace and his Cyberpromtions.
Grow chairs the Technology Department at Arent Fox, a
Washington, D.C.-based law firm
focused on government affairs. Grow is a member of the
Intellectual Property Group,
specializing in trademark and copyright litigation and
has represented clients in civil
actions and appeals in state and federal courts
throughout the United States and in several
foreign countries. He also has broad experience in
counseling clients in matters relating to
trademark selection, clearance and registration,
domestic and international trademark and
copyright protection, unfair competition law; computer
law; franchise law and licensing.
Grow has written several articles relating to
intellectual property law and has given
numerous presentations at conferences sponsored by
AIPLA, INTA, the FBI Academy and
various other organizations in the United States and
abroad on intellectual property topics.
He is active in AIPLA, FICPI, IPIC and Marques.
Mike Jackman, Executive Director,
California ISP Association
Mike Jackman is Executive Director of the California ISP Association,
the
largest state association of ISPs. He manages the association's
legislative advocacy, state and federal regulatory initiatives,
fundraising and media relations. A 20-year veteran of public affairs and
technology public relations campaigns, Mike has worked on a variety of
public issues including broadband access, line sharing, Internet
security,
stem cell research, agbiotech and power plant siting.
John Levine, Author
John Levine is the author of the popular Internet
for Dummies, along with many other books, and is an expert on the Internet and computer
languages. Levine has
lecturered extensively to corporations and industry groups and
regularly consults on the Internet and related computer
topics.
Levine also runs the Network Abuse
Clearinghouse, and is a member of the board of the
Coalition Against
Unsolicited Commercial E-mail.
Anne P. Mitchell, Esq., President
and CEO, Institute for Spam and Internet Public Policy
Anne P. Mitchell is the President and CEO of ISIPP. Prior to taking the helm at
the Institute, Mitchell was one of the original founders of Habeas, Inc., where she
served as President and CEO from its inception through its first year,
establishing Habeas as an industry leader and changing the face of
whitelisting of legitimate email. Prior to her work with Habeas, Mitchell
served as the Director of Legal and Public Affairs for Mail Abuse
Prevention System, one of the original and most well-respected anti-spam
services on the Internet. Mitchell is a graduate of Stanford Law
School, a Professor of Law at Lincoln Law School of San Jose, and a
member of the California Bar. A highly respected industry advisor and thought
leader, Mitchell has consulted with both state and
Federal legislators on anti-spam legislative issues, and helped to author the
language of the McCain amendment to the Federal CAN-SPAM Act of 2003.
Brad Templeton, Chairman, Electronic Frontier
Foundation
Brad Templeton is Chairman of the Board of Directors of the
Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) and a longtime writer on
cyberspace issues. The EFF, founded in 1990, is devoted to civil
rights online, in particular free speech and encryption rights.
Templeton also was founder and publisher at ClariNet Communications
Corp., the #1 internet-based electronic newspaper publisher, until
selling it to Newsedge Corporation. in 1997. ClariNet gathers
information from a variety of sources including major newswires, and edits it into a constantly updated package that is
sent
to subscriber's computers over the internet, to be read on their own
machines. It was the first company formed to provide services over the
Internet. He has been active in the computer network community since
1979,
particpated in the building and growth of USENET from its earliest days.

Mickey Chandler, President and CEO, Whizardries,
Inc., ISIPP Policy Fellow
While President of the Forum for
Responsible & Ethical E-mail, Chandler authored anti-spam legislation
introduced
in Texas and Hawaii, consulted with legislators of three other states as
well as the Australian parliament on anti-spam issues, and submitted
testimony to the US Congress. Chandler has also worked on spam
legislation and consulted on anti-spam lawsuits while working with
Mail Abuse Prevention System and Habeas, Inc..
